Economic causes behind the shift from Cattle-Grazing to Mechanized Agriculture in the North of Brazil

Primary face-to-face data collection with 600 rural farmers to set up a database that served as a basis for the production of academic papers about agrobusiness policies, the shift from grasslands to farming, countering deforestation, among others. This project involved the application of electronic surveys to farmers with game theory-inspired simulations of economic scenarios. Research was carried out in 17 municipalities across the Amazon and the savannah. The project was funded by the Energy and Biosciences Institute at UC Berkeley.
