Identifying a potential market for low-emission wood-burning stoves

In this feasibility study for the implementation of a new cooking technology known as "turbostoves", the Plan team mapped out communities where the use of conventional wood stoves was more intense and therefore offered the greatest potential for conversion to this new product. Turbostoves are an inexpensive solution supported by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). They are based on the injection of air for a more efficient combustion, reducing C02 emissions and the incidence of respiratory diseases.
