Monitoring of a results-based budgeting programme


This World-Bank supported consultancy consisted in the development of causal chains and monitoring indicators for steering the largest state budget in Brazil (USD 80 billion/yr.) towards a results-based logic. Plan led this process by proposing results and goals based on a prospective assessment of international experiences, expert opinions and panel discussions in the pilot areas of Education and Prison Administration. This pioneering experience was presented in conferences and inspired the adoption of RBM in other planning agencies.
