Developing criteria for community based categorization of poverty to support the targeting of social protection programmes in Democratic Republic of the Congo
This study aimed to develop criteria for community-based categorization of poverty to support the targeting of cash transfer programs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). In this context, Plan conducted a Participatory Poverty Assessment exercise with local communities, wherein community members identify indicators based on their concepts of poverty/wealth. The assessment was conducted through group discussions, participatory ranking, and social mapping exercises, enabling community engagement.
